Favorite gift hasn't been given yet, but next week- I'm making my fiance a super hero cape - I can't wait to give it to him"

Sew Mama Sew is having a giveway day and I've joined!
I am giving away 2, 5-inch square packs (42 squares in each) of Moda's Make Life fabric line!

To enter, comment on this post and tell me what the most favorite gift you ever gave was (and it doesn't have to be Christmas or a holiday gift, just any time of the year).

For a bonus entry, add a seperate comment saying you are a follower or have become a follower.

Comments will close at 6pm on Dec. 17 and random.org will draw the winner sometime in the evening. I'll post here and in a brand new post with the winners no later than midnight the 17th.   Oh, and I will ship internationally so all can enter!
Don't forget to leave an email address if you don't have a blog or some other way for me to get back in touch with you. (While I've got my kids convinced I'm psychic, I won't pretend with you. lol)

Good luck and thanks for stopping in.   Click on the link above or the button on my sidebar to see many other fabulous blogs and giveaways. Thank you Sew Mama Sew for hosting such a fun event once again.

Happy Holidays!
Beck

Last year, I gave my (almost non-cooking)daughter a cookbook. It was handmade with recipes from both her grandmothers and from my two grandmothers. I also wrote her friends (and many of my friends), aunts/uncles, etc. for favorite recipes and stories that went with them (or were about my daughter). Photos of the grandmas were scanned and included,as were many of my recipe cards in their handwriting. It was so much fun for me to do - and she loved it!

Oh that is such a hard question to answer!! I think it was for my father's 60th surprise birthday (quite some years ago I might add!!) and I was living overseas at the time. I came home for his birthday and hid out at my sister's house. She wrapped me up in a box and he unwrapped me at his party (much to his absolute shock and surprise) Everyone but he knew about it. It absolutely made his night as I had been away for a couple of years at that time. The look on his face was priceless and I knew it just made his night having me home.

I don't have a favorite gift I gave or made, but a do have a favorite way. I gave my husband a guitar one year, but he had to solve 25 scavenger hunt riddles. I suggest all clues are kept indoors. One involved the Stop sign out in front of our house, but oddly enough that morning, someone hung a red bike on the other stop sign (U shaped cul-de-sac) and he went off track for about 20 mins, when I had to intervene. Who hangs a bike on a sign? Someone else doing a scavengar hunt perhaps? We still laugh about it!!Thank you for participating in the giveaway day!

Last year I gave a good friend a tote bag for Christmas. We'd never exchanged gifts before, so she didn't know it was coming, and I had heard her mention how much she loved toile fabrics, so that's the fabric I used for the bag. It made me feel great to give her something that was a total surprise and in a fabric I knew she loved.

Two years ago I made blankets for everyone of my grandchildren (16) for Christmas. It was a challenge and in the end my husband jumped in to help me get them all done on time. It was great fun, and they all loved them.

The best gift I ever gave someone was a few years ago when I gave my sister a car. It wasn't anything fancy, or new, but it ran, and gave her 2 more years of no car payments, and only small repairs!

Hi Becky! Love your LSU quilt on your header. I'm Becky, too, another LSU fan:) My favorite gifts have been when I made a quilt especially for someone. Last Christmas, I surprised my friend Kathy with her own lap quilt. It made us both very happy:)

This year I made a birthday gift for a good friend who loves classical music and is a great pianist. I had some fabric with profiles of famous composers. I did an embroidery of his profile and appliance it into the mix. It turned out totally awesome. :)

Wow who would have thought that thinking of the best gift would be hard. I'd have to say that mine is a gift/re-gift and it's this year. My aunt mailed me a very tiny (maybe 2 inch square) photo that she thought was funny. It is of my pops, mom, my brothers and myself when I was 3 months old.

Little did she know that the only picture we have ever had of all of us together was taken when we were all adults and it was a couple of years before my father passed away.

I took this very cherished gift and had it enlarged to 4 x 6 and mailed a copy to each of my brothers.
