Favorite gift hasn't been given yet, but next week- I'm making my fiance a super hero cape - I can't wait to give it to him"

Sew Mama Sew is having a giveway day and I've joined!
I am giving away 2, 5-inch square packs (42 squares in each) of Moda's Make Life fabric line!

To enter, comment on this post and tell me what the most favorite gift you ever gave was (and it doesn't have to be Christmas or a holiday gift, just any time of the year).

For a bonus entry, add a seperate comment saying you are a follower or have become a follower.

Comments will close at 6pm on Dec. 17 and random.org will draw the winner sometime in the evening. I'll post here and in a brand new post with the winners no later than midnight the 17th.   Oh, and I will ship internationally so all can enter!
Don't forget to leave an email address if you don't have a blog or some other way for me to get back in touch with you. (While I've got my kids convinced I'm psychic, I won't pretend with you. lol)

Good luck and thanks for stopping in.   Click on the link above or the button on my sidebar to see many other fabulous blogs and giveaways. Thank you Sew Mama Sew for hosting such a fun event once again.

Happy Holidays!

I made a friendship quilt for an online friend. Her husband is dying and it meant a lot to give her something to wrap up in, even though I can't be with her.

What a generous giveaway. thank you for the chance to win! The best gift I ever gave was a father's day gift to my hubby. There were several bottles of wine that were all about him and being a dad. You stole my heart when I saw your banner with the LSU quilt!

My favourite gift was my wedding gift from my mother who made me a double-wedding ring (machine-pieced, hand-quilted) in purple and gold. On the corner where she signed the quilt it has a little LSU surround by two conjoined hearts since my husband and I met passing notes in class while attending LSU :)

I know it should be a handmade item, but the most special gift I ever gave was to my husband on our wedding day. There was a certain watch he'd wanted since he was a boy and he'd asked me for a fake one for a present. I bought him the real one (and very expensive it was too!). Seeing him wearing it later and him saying thank you was very emotional!

Most favorite gift to my husband was the unexpected news that I was expecting. We were just coming to terms with how our life was at the moment.

Mary Grace McNamara said...

A quilt I made for one of my sisters for her wedding gift was my favorite to give. I delivered it in person and no one except for my husband knew I was making the trip from Massachusetts to Florida with it. I showed up at her door with two suitcases, one for my stuff and one for the quilt, and not enough cash to pay the taxi driver! You can imagine their surprise and of course they wondered if there was something wrong! It was great fun and the best kept secret in the history of our family!

Favorite gift was the year we had NO money, so we went to the dollar store and bought little dart guns for all my husband's brothers, brothers-in-law, and his dad. We had them open @ the same time. The tags said, "May the best man win!" We weren't there, but we heard there was an epic battle. This was years ago, and it's still one of the favorite Christmas stories.

Best gift I ever gave.. gosh that is hard. I would have to say that it was a camera for my dad. He had started to shake from Parkinsons (which we didn't know he had yet), and so his pitures from a cheapy camera weren't turning out anymore. I had joined the Navy, and so I had some money of my own for a change. I saved up and bought him "a real camera". His pictures were great for a while after that, and he was happy.. so were we.

My favorite gift(s) I've ever given were those from my late husband's estate sale. I was able to give away 2 cars (one to a very good friend who helped me with the estate sale and one to my ex-husband) and an electronic keyboard as a Secret Santa present for a local boy who had lost his mother to alcoholism (like my husband). Out of tragedy came something positive.

But my dad, in a surprising gesture of compassion, bought the other four.

I don't know. I feel like I don't give very good gifts, even though I try. I made a scarf for a gift exchange recently, and the girl that ended up with it really liked it, so I'll just go with that. Thank you for the giveaway!

My favorite gift I've made is the charm-pack skirt I made as a surprise for my friend's little girl. It was super easy to make and she loved it! Thanks so much for participating in the giveaway!

The 6 miniature xmas trees that I made for neices and nephews last year. For each one I made 120 ornaments made from beads...the kids were speechless.

My favourite gift to give is one that is a surprise. Like the homecooked meals I took to a friends place the other week just so she could have a couple of nights off cooking.

I thinks its the quilt I gave to my Grandma for her birthday. She used it in the nursing home for ten years.

The gift was for my DDIL. She had just started quilting and fell in love with Heather Ross's Lightning Bug line. I found a kit complete with backing and pattern. She loved it. She said it was the best Christmas present she ever got. She was so appreciative!! Thanks for the chance to win

I made my parents a Turning Twenty (x2) quilt for their 40th anniversary. My sisters and I collected fabrics depicting events and memorable things from their years together. They were so surprised!

Ohwee! I want to win these.
The best gift I gave that I loved was a pair of earrings I made from Swarkroski crystals. They were delicate, yet very stylish; I am certain the owner of them received alot of comments about how beautiful they are.
