My husband is Irish. Very Irish... I think he has a famous relative in Ireland kind of Irish! :)
My ex-husband is a bit Irish, too, so all the kids in our house have some Irish blood.
However, today I am sobbing. Me, the only one who is not Irish, only German and Slovak blood here, is the only one who likes corned beef and cabbage! What is WRONG with my family?!

Wish I lived closer but I am also Irish and love corned beef and cabbage
I've seen a couple of blogs mentioning the corned beef and cabbage thing and I don't know where it comes from. Both my parents are Irish and I was born and brought up in England but I'm back a forward a lot and I have never heard of this dish!
Boiled bacon and cabbage though, thats the one! Is your corned beef different? Here it comes out of a tin and it really rough.
But a nice big ham, soaked and boiled in a pot for hours, lovely. Course I don't like the cabbage bit anyway!

Shevvy, it's more an Irish American thing that developed in the 1920's according to one source I've read due to the availability of corned beef.
Not Irish ( well not for the last 100 or so years) , don't really like beer, (I'll have to drop off at the Southern Comfort factory first )and I'm not a fan of corned beef and cabbage. What else do you want me to bring?
And you cant intimate something like "My husband is Bono's cousin" and then not actually say who it is !!!Spill the beans.
